APPLY FOR AN ADOPTION GRANT

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your adoption journey.

We focus our grants toward families adopting children ages 3+ or children with special needs. Funding priority will be given to families with the greatest financial and family adoption need.

Grant Qualifications

  • Your home study must be completed in order to apply.

  • Be in process with an agency that is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit licensed to place children for adoption.

  • Your combined family income must be under $180,000 per year

Before You Apply:

Applications cannot be submitted for:

  • Independent adoptions through lawyers, facilitators, or humanitarian organizations

  • Embryo adoptions

  • Adoptions from non-Hague Convention countries

  • Adoptions for which placement has already occurred

Collect the following pieces of information

(please black out social security numbers)

  • IRS tax information (1040 or 1099 forms) for the last two years

  • Net worth of property, investments, goods, and liquid assets

  • Annual budget information for both income and expenses

  • Address, phone, name, and email of your adoption agency and caseworker

  • Your home study

  • Family or referral photos (optional)

The Application Process

Applications are reviewed quarterly in March, June, September and December.

The complete application process is a form online and will need to be completed in one sitting.

You can email your required documents, including your home study and tax documents to grants@onelessorphan.org.

All applicants will receive a letter or email from One Less regarding the outcome of their application. Due to funding limitations, we are unable to fund all applications received. All funds will be disbursed directly to your agency.

  • Home study

  • Federal tax returns (Form 1040, first two pages only) for the past two years, or

  • Form 1099(s), if applicable. Please redact all Social Security numbers.

  • Current family photo

  • Referral information and a referral photo (if available).
